Hiking in Telluride, CO: The Galloping Goose Trail
I really love hiking (maybe y’all have picked up on that…I don’t know…). I love long and challenging hikes that have awesome views as a payoff for the hard work you put into it. However, sometimes I like a shorter, chill hike that’s level with no real incline – especially since I started hiking with my daughter in her carrier! If you can also appreciate these kinds of hiking trails, and you happen to be going to Telluride, CO, then I have just the hike for you – and you don’t even have to sacrifice amazing views! The Galloping Goose trail is a trail my mom and I found while…

The Ultimate Summer Bucket List for Telluride, CO
Telluride, Oh Telluride. If you have read any of my previous posts on Telluride, you may have picked up that I kind of have a thing for it. But really…who can blame me? If you haven’t been to Telluride, then I need you to pull up a calendar for next summer and start planning your trip right now! Telluride is my Number One mountain town in the whole state – and that’s saying something because, to be honest, I have been around! The snow-capped peaks of the San Juans are tough to compete against, as you can see in the below picture! For those of you who haven’t been, here’s a quick rundown…

Hike to Cornet Creek Falls – Telluride, CO
Telluride, Colorado has an abundance of waterfalls that are all very easy distances from the center of town – including Bridal Veil Falls, which is the tallest free-falling waterfall in the state!! Despite being a little over 3 months pregnant at the time of my trip this year, I was determined to still fit in a couple of new hikes! Of the three waterfalls that I wanted to check out, Cornet Creek Falls is the only one I was actually successful on. The altitude hit me way harder being preggers than I thought it would! Cornet Creek Falls is an 80-foot waterfall that is easily accessible right from the center of town!…

34th Annual Telluride Balloon Festival – June 2017
Telluride, Colorado is a beautiful mountain town on the western slope of the state. I admittedly haven’t been to Aspen or Steamboat Springs (yet), but I feel confident in saying it would still be my favorite even if I had! Summer and early fall in Telluride are host to a plethora of amazing festivals and events – some of which are incredibly popular and famous (think Telluride Film Festival, anyone?). Even though there are many I would like to experience, the only one that I’ve made the trek for so far is the Telluride Balloon Festival, which is usually held the first weekend of every June! I love visiting Telluride in early…

Telluride, CO: A Traveler’s Perspective
Telluride is without a doubt the most interesting town I have ever been to…and definitely one of the most beautiful. Prior to 2013, I had only heard of Telluride in relation to the Telluride Film Festival that I read about in my grandmother’s highly educational tabloid magazines. I never thought about Telluride again until I was living in Colorado Springs. I was googling “hiking in Colorado” when I saw the Telluride scenery for the first time. I wasn’t sure because I had never been there, but I was pretty certain I had just discovered the most amazing place since the New World. It took me three long years before I…

Hiking Telluride’s Bridal Veil Falls
So, just to recap, Telluride CO is a must-see destination for you and your loved ones or really anyone that you know. I took the picture below in the middle of town!! I mean, who gets to experience that kind of beauty just lollygagging around town?? That’s right…Telluridians. (I totally just made that word up.) And maybe Switzerlandians. (Or Swiss… but I like my word better.) Once again, I digress! While there are many, many activities that I could recommend for you to do while in Telluride, I think if you only had time to do one thing before skipping town, it should be hiking up to Bridal Veil Falls. It’s not just the…

Telluride’s 33rd Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival
Guys, if you haven’t been to Telluride, CO, then things need to change. ASAP. By no means have I been everywhere, but I have been a few places! I’ve never seen forests as beautiful as Oregon’s, and I’ve never seen a mountain town more majestic than Telluride! The town of Telluride is nestled in a box canyon surrounded by tall white-capped mountains. The mountainsides are covered in aspen and evergreens, and a rushing river flows through the middle of town (no big deal). It’s pretty much Valhalla, except real…and on Earth. Most people have heard about Telluride in relation to the Telluride Film Festival, but not everybody knows that Telluride is home…

Telluride’s Best SECRET spot!
Guys, I’m not even gonna lie to y’all…this place is the closest I’ve ever been to having my own “The Hills are Alive with the Sound of Music” meadow. What makes a place beautiful? Mountains? Trees? Meadows? Wildflowers? Majestic Views? A Woodland Stream? Check, check, check, check, double check, and check. All it’s really missing is a waterfall and a couple of unicorns. Ok, I don’t wanna oversell it, so I’m just gonna go ahead and tell you how to get there. Disclaimer: You will want to take this ride in a car that can handle rough roads. The footpath that we found was not fenced off, it didn’t have posted private…
